Answer: There are mainly three rules for the subject forms of pronouns:

1). The subject form is used for a subject of a main clause or of a subordinate clause.
E.g.(1). He left his book in the classroom.
(2). John Smith talked to the man who was wearing a blue coat.
(3). After he left, I went to bed.

2). The subject form is used for pronouns that follow the verb "to be"
E.g.(1). It was he at he door.
(2). It must have been they who left the message.

3). The subject form is used when the subjects of two clauses are being compared.
E.g.(1). She is taller than he (is).
(2). They have more money than we (have).

1). 作主句或从句的主语
如: (1). He left his book in the classroom.

(2). It must have been they who left the message.

3). 两个从句的主语做比较时
如:(1). She is taller than he (is).
