校园位于一片绿地之上，校内的现代化建筑曾经获奖，与周遭的开阔绿野融为一体。萨塞克斯大学的所有教学场所与生活设施（除了几处校舍之外），都位于法尔马（Falmer）的绿野校园内，且彼此相距很近。萨塞克斯大学是英格兰唯一的一所大学，其全部校园都坐落于“自然风光异常美丽区”内。环绕校园的乡村地区，一般被称为南丘（South Downs）；南丘地区有古老的村庄、山丘和广阔的田野，深受一日游游人、长途步行者和骑山地车者的欢迎。

从伦敦和英国西部地区乘火车来大学的学生，应在布里奇顿火车站换乘去法尔马的火车；频繁来往于布里奇顿和路易士（Lewis）之间的当地火车，在法尔马站停驶。从法尔马站去布里奇顿站约需八分钟。大学校园位于布里奇顿和路易士之间的A27公路旁，离布里奇顿市中心约四英里（六公里）。从伦敦和北部开车来学校的人，应沿通向布里奇顿市的M23/A23公路行驶。在快到布里奇顿市中心之前，应按路标转向通往路易士的A27（向东）路。从东或西边开车来的人，应沿A27公路直接开向大学。伦敦维多利亚（Victoria）长途车站有车发往布里奇顿市的Pool Valley长途站。白天从伦敦开往布里奇顿的长途车每小时发一班车，旅途约需一小时四十五分。从Pool Valley长途站走约100米，就到了Old Steine汽车站，学生从这里可搭乘公共汽车或计程车去学校。伦敦盖特威克（Gatwick）机场离萨塞克斯大学，要比伦敦希思罗机场离大学近的多，且去法尔马的交通也便利的多。从盖特威克机场来的学生，应乘开往布里奇顿或路易士的火车，然后换乘去法尔马的车。从希思罗机场来的学生，可乘坐伦敦的地铁抵达维多利亚火车站，然后乘车去布里奇顿，再换车去法尔马。此外，伦敦盖特威克和希思罗机场都有长途车发往布里奇顿市。如果学生乘飞机抵达伦敦市飞机场（London City Airport），则应从Silvertown和City Airport站乘火车到Canning Town，转乘地铁到伦敦桥（London Bridge）站，然后搭火车去布里奇顿，再去法尔马。
学校简介
萨塞克斯大学相当注重国际交流，与全球众多机构保持密切联系；大学以拥有来自50个国家的科研人员而自豪。大学的2,300名学生来自英国之外的115个国家。每年，学校迎接约550名交换和访问生。学校图书馆拥有藏书750,000多册，期刊2,500多种，以及丰富的电子与视听资源。所有的资料都列在电脑化的目录上，可以通过互联网查询。校园内有几个大型的个人用电脑组，大学还为某些专门应用程式，如电脑辅助设计，提供高功能电脑设施。
学校为母语不是英语的学生提供英语和学习技能的支援。主课前英语课程的长短从一个月至一年不等。学期中，学校还提供各种非全日制的课程，如学术英语、普通英语以及学习技能课程。
萨塞克斯大学有两个大型的多功能体育馆、一个设施齐备的健身房、七个壁球场、四个足球场、两个橄榄球场、六个网球场、一个舞蹈排练厅和一个泛光灯照耀的阿斯特罗草皮球场。
萨塞克斯大学学生会是众多活动的核心。学生会除了经办一百多个俱乐部和协会之外，还管理学生自己的电台和学生刊物。
校园内有若干为学生提供饮食的地方，如学校餐厅、外卖店、咖啡馆、面包圈店、自助餐馆和几个酒吧。食品杂货店、报刊经售店、书店、邮局、药店和两间银行，满足学生的所有日常购物所需。加德纳艺术中心（Gardner Arts Centre)吸引艺术家前来表演新颖与丰富多彩的舞蹈、现代戏剧和世界各地的音乐。
萨塞克斯大学规模中等，现有在校学生约9,600人，其中约7,000人为大学部学生，2,600人为研究生。
