a) To improve students communication in Business English.
b) Students to be able to express themselves fluently and clearly.
c) Students to gain confidence in speaking English.

For students to obtain a basic insight into the business world, the protocol, procedures and formalities required。

to conduct themselves within a business environment. The interpersonal
skills required and a general understanding of business.

Students to understand the general business needs , interpersonal skills and a fundamental understanding of business.

Chapter one. Introduction
Greetings and obtaining personal information.
Chapter two. People
Discussing appearance and personalities and first impressions.
Chapter three. People at work
Talking about jobs, advice, stress, job description and applying for jobs.
Chapter four. At the office
Asking
for and giving advice, describing places, describing things, making
suggestions and decisions, asking for and giving instructions.
Chapter five. The Business world
Work, money, private and public enterprise,
Chapter six. Communication
Written and spoken communication, using the telephone, memorandum.
Chapter seven. Plans and arrangements.
Asking for and giving travel arrangements, booking a hotel room, checking into a hotel, dealing with telephone enquiries.
Chapter eight. Going places ,
Instructions, direction, arrangements, travel, describing places.
Chapter nine. Entertaining ,
Socializing, plans and arrangements, invitations, dinner dates, parties, cultural concepts of hospitality and politeness
Chapter ten. Personnel
Jobs, work, applying for a job, job interview, peoples needs.
Chapter eleven. Marketing and Advertising
Advertising ,marketing, market research, trade fairs.
Chapter twelve. Sales
Buying goods, negotiating a sale, help and information
Chapter thirteen. Facts and Figures
Percentages, measurements, dates, time references, statistics.
Chapter fourteen. The Festive Season
Festivals, traditions, customs, Christmas, the New Year.
Chapter fifteen. Problems
Problems and solutions, complaints, apologies, emotions.
III. Practice Method
Students
will take a active role in class. Students will be expected to work in
pairs , small groups as well as preparing and presenting individual
work.
