一、课程的性质和任务：
1．课程的性质
英语阅读技能在学习英语中尤其重要,它是获取英语信息的主要来源之一,掌握一定的阅读技巧有助于提高学习英语的层次,扩大英语词汇,为英语其他技能的掌握打下良好的基础。
本课程是针对英语基本技能中的阅读技能而开设,目的是为了提高学生的综合阅读能力,能够读懂一定难度的英语文章,通过学习,学生能够掌握一般的阅读技巧。
2．课程的任务
学生掌握一般的阅读材料的综合概括能力；剖析文章、找出文章结构的能力；生词的猜词能力；阅读的综合分析能力。通过学习，学生应大大增加词汇量，加快阅读速度，提高阅读的理解能力。
