First Listening
Please listen to a short passage carefully and prepare to answer some questions.
One spring morning, the author encountered a mother wolf caught in a trap. He guessed that there must be a group of baby wolves somewhere, waiting for their mother. The author decided to set her loose from the trap, but first he had to find her young to gain her faith. With great effort, the author found the baby wolves in a hole and brought them to their mother. He even found her a dead deer for her food. The wolf had some faith in him. Then, with great care and caution, the author tried to move in her direction; the wolf did not move. At last, with much difficulty, the author wedged the trap open and set the mother wolf free.
After release from the trap, the wolf did not vanish into the woods at once, but crept towards him cautiously. She began to sniff his hands and arms, and then licked his fingers. This was completely contrary to what he had heard about the wolf. Although a little bizarre, everything seemed so natural in this case.
Second Listening

2. What would you do if you saw an animal getting trapped?
3. Nature is both our human environment and a home for wild animals, so man and animals should live together in peace. Do you agree?
