First Listening
Please listen to a short passage carefully and prepare to answer some questions.
Something has gone wrong with your computer. Processing has slowed down to a crawl. Printing is impossible and changing screens or moving pointers is becoming extremely slow. What's more, you are receiving hundreds of e-mail messages from someone that you never knew before. To add more to your confusion, a friend of yours called to complain that you have sent so many e-mail messages to him that have nothing to do with him. A further check may be more shocking: your databases have been destroyed and the information on your hard drive has been erased. And the computer refuses to save any new documents. What is wrong with your computer? What is the disaster? Is it too old to continue to work any more? (Words: 124)
Second Listening Listen to the tape again. Then answer the following questions. 1. What has happened to your computer?
2. What can you do with your computer now?
3. How can you prevent such a disaster from happening again?
