    The three reading passages of this unit share the theme of considerations about recreations. The first passage narrates the Walt Disney organization’s experiences in setting up its first theme park in Europe: Euro Disney near Paris. These have included objections from French intellectuals that the park is polluting French culture and legal problems in respect of the dress code for its employees. Euro Disney has, however, made strong efforts to Europeanize its theme park. Passage B looks into the reasons and possible solutions for the initial disappointing financial results that Euro Disney has released. The third passage tells us of the efforts the Japanese are making to work less and play harder. While it is the Japanese government that is promoting the change, it is private Japanese enterprises that are providing the facilities.
